Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. This year, Fostering Faith Foundation’s goal is $10,000. This will allow us finish off our Christmas wishes with a bang and ring in the new year with funds to aid those coming into care with the needed winter necessities.
We strive to make each caregiver and child that walks through our doors for aid feel special and loved. Each child coming into care has endured something different whether it be neglect, abuse, the deaths of parents or a multitude of other reasons. Their trauma was never asked or warranted upon them. Entering a group home, a foster family or temporarily staying with family memories (sometimes family there not familiar with) is scary. Many of these children come into care with little to nothing, after being removed from everything that was once familiar to them and our doors open to allow them to pick what they want or allow a foster parent to not have to worry about the strain of having to shop last minute or find a store that’s open, to allow their new transition to feel a little more welcoming.
Each donation we receive, enables us the opportunity to serve each of these children, as well as those who have aged out of the system that might need a little extra assistance. We also strive to help our kinship families as assistance for their needs can be limited, especially at Christmas. Our family at Fostering Faith Foundation strives each day to make the children and their caregivers feel like family and to remind them that they are loved and cared for, while restoring a little bit of hope into their lives.
