As the warm summer breeze fills the air and the sun shines brightly, it may seem unusual to be thinking about Christmas. However, embracing the spirit of giving and the joy of the holiday season can be celebrated all year round. I recently got the chance to sit down with Denise Heidel, Executive Director of the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce to record a podcast about the foundation and our 2nd Christmas in July community giving.
While Christmas is traditionally celebrated in December, the concept of Christmas in July has gained popularity around the world in recent years. This unique celebration allows us to channel the joy and generosity associated with the holiday season into the summer months. By embracing the spirit of giving and spreading cheer, we can make a positive impact on lives, especially those of our friends in foster and kinship care.
Recording this podcast with Denise about Fostering Faith Foundation’s Christmas in July offered a unique opportunity for me to discuss the significance of our event, needs from the community and donations, but to also inspire listeners to give back. I hope that listeners feel inspired and motivated to make a difference. All our charitable donations, both physical and monetarily, that comes in from our Christmas in July community event allows us to serve so many children in foster and kinship care over the holiday season. The holidays may seem far away, but for us, our Christmas season is just around the corner. Donations help us all year in our resource center, however, Christmas is when our spirit of giving expands to new reaches. Donating your own time, resources or funds is a great way to give back.
